Rudy,
I know that since you are contractually obliged to reply to each and every single message in these forums, you don't have much time left over to properly read the messages you're responding to <g>, but I did /not/ say that Michael had been the source of that expression.
(That paragraph did originally say "Michael, nor any other EMBT employee," - but see later)
However I /did/ say "there's not a lot of evidence" for EMBT being open to suggestions...
Over the years many people have made suggestions for the improvement of the product and its marketing. I myself have made proposals as to how EMBT could have multiplied their revenue from our company and could increase the likelihood of sales into the long-term.
The feedback from EMBT employees has been conspicuous by its absence - not in these forums; not by mail; not by private email; not by telephone - "not a lot of evidence"
Yes, EMBT employees do occasionally say - as did Allen - "I would recommend you contact Xyz and voice your suggestions."
To which my, admittedly flippant, response was along the lines of: "I have already voiced my suggestion in this forum. Why should I have to contact Xyz myself? Why can't Xyz read my comments here? Why should I have to do the extra work to prepare the basis for /his/ presentation to EMBT management? After all, this suggestion could increase EMBT profits."
Surely if any EMBT employee did think that my idea was worth considering, then /they/ would be contacting me. Since they haven't, then I can probably assume that I would be wasting my (unpaid) time.
... Again, "not a lot of evidence" for EMBT being open to suggestions.
Neither, to the best of my recollection, has any EMBT employee ever expressed even the slightest dissent from, or disapproval of, comments such as the one which I quoted. In fact, the only comments from EMBT I can find are along very similar lines: "Yes - and nothing in it makes me believe he knows more about our broad and diverse customer base than we do." https://forums.embarcadero.com/message.jspa?messageID=190431 (Not any particular dig at Nick. Just the first example thrown up by Google)
... Again "not a lot of evidence" for EMBT being open to any suggestion which doesn't fit in with their current thinking.
However, I would *love* to be proved wrong.
