The trouble with that is I cant recall Borland/CodeGear/Embar ever taking the 'open' approach. Someone already pointed out that before this line of thinking ('we cant tell you or it will risk sales'), we got the 'we cant tell you because of SOX' line for a number of years. And over those years, Delphi went from mainstream to niche.

I didnt mean it in a negative way - just that by relying on upgrades as opposed to new sales is a long term losing strategy as people eventually bail out for various reasons (retirement, changing requirements, etc).
