That is not applicable yet, because Delphi 64-bit is not 3-4 month
away, it is still further away than that.

The recent roadmap stated a preview/beta version in first half of 2011. This would be in time for a Delphi 2012 release in 2011Q3. We are 14 month away from Delphi64 release.
I hope that Embarcadero undstand that it cannot wait further than that. With current Windows 7 sales are 47% 64bit OS, it is sure and certain that Microsoft will promote 64-bit as desktop OS for serious, and leave 32-bit for netbooks and auxilary devices. Does that mean we cannot run 32-bit apps on Windows 64-bit? Ofcourse not, but Delphi needs a 64-bit implementation so it is ready whenever needed.
I am happy that Embarcadero has been working on cross platform Delphi, I am eagerly awaiting to see how it has been implemented QT/CLX2/?, but it is very important that the new 64/32 bit compiler is released next year.
