It's hard to be all things to all people, but I've made an initial scratch
on the open letter from the development community while coming back on the
airplane today.
This draft letter can be found at my blog - www.simventions.com/gustavson

Hi Paul,

Great work, thanks! I'll mention/link to it on my site. Should we
comment here, or at your blog (or both?)
FWIW, the list of customers whp use/rely on C++Builder should perhaps be
"weighted" somehow, since some clients only use it for a single seat

Thanks. I will monitor both. The newsgroups work well for threaded
conversations. Whereas, I would suggest comments at the blog attempt to
reflect some degree of congruence (agreement) with the original post since
that informaton can be more persistent and accessible than any newsgroup

I've got a few goodies for you on this account.
Our customers are the major players in the European space industry,
including the European Space Agency, Astrium, Alenia Spazio, Alcatel,
SAAB Space. In the U.S. we have also delivered systems for NASA/JPL,

Hi Kristofer,
If you love to do those types of things with BCB, please chack out
www.mitov.com . There is a lot of signal processing and image processing
stuff in the form of VCLs designed to work with native C++ Builder data
buffers. You may like it ;-)

I hope you filled in the short questionnaire at

it's exactly what we need to convince Borland management that BCB is here to
stay, irrespective of their desire to subvert it in favour of CBX. All data

It's a very good letter but if you can forgive me for being picky then
  here are two comments:
You use the term "Long live software" - should this be "long life
  software"?
35

Paul Gustavson replied on 27-Sep-2004:

Thanks Andrue.
Can you list some of the government agencies that use that forensic
    application?
    (snip)

Actually it should be "long-live assets" live is pronounced as you would
use it with the phrase "live it up" or "don't try to live your life in one

To be sure - I used the Google verifier...
        long-live assets: 88 / long-live asset: 4 - Total = 92 hits
        long-lived assets: 69,800 / long-lived asset: 12,300 - Total = 82,100 hits

Paul,
I just looked at version 1.3. Under DOD, you can add
the Naval Air Systems Command, and under the Department of
Homeland Security, you can add the US Coast Guard.

Unfortunately not. Our product sales/services people say they'd want to
get permission from the customer and this could take a long time and is
something they'd rather not do. One possible issue is that those
